The Missed Big Picture - Humanity Has A Collective Forgetfulness
Each generation from the Mankind misses the big picture, that we will all die, our bodies buried and souls returning to God for His Judgment over us.
Most of us get lost within the confines of our little own made up temporary worlds, until we see the real World, the Hereafter. But by then, it's too late to turn to the Creator.
Throughout history, each generation from the mankind has been marked by its so called achievements, advancements, and progress, even though, nothing remains of those dead forgotten societies that once ruled the earth and claimed to be invincible.
Nothing remains of the arrogant - except destruction, dust and regrets.
Yet, amidst the swirling currents of daily life, power struggles, and personal desires, there is a profound truth that many of us tend to overlook: we will all die.
Our bodies, no matter how glorified or adorned in life, will eventually be laid to rest in the earth, while our souls return to their Creator to face judgment.
This ultimate reality—the inevitability of Death, Resurrection and the Hereafter—is one that should anchor our thoughts and actions in daily life, because we forget and we are mostly ignorants to the facts of life. Time and again, we find ourselves distracted, consumed by the temporary, material world we have built. Instead of reflecting on the transient nature of this life, we become absorbed by its fleeting pleasures and illusions of permanence.
The irony is - most want to follow those pompous nations who have been destroyed not those who were fearing and prospered - in the real sense of the word.
The Illusion of Permanence
In every era, humanity has constructed its own "little worlds." These worlds vary—ranging from the pursuit of wealth, fame, and power to indulging in comforts and technologies that offer momentary satisfaction. We build legacies and empires, accumulating material success and striving to gain recognition. The problem is, these endeavors are like sandcastles at the edge of a rising tide—beautiful for a moment, but inevitably washed away by the forces of time.
Where are the residents of the Pyramids or those who lived and bragged under the tall towers of Rome and Greece?
Caught in this whirlwind of distractions, we forget the larger reality that transcends this life. We become prisoners of the very worlds we create, believing in their permanence.
We lose sight of the fact that our existence here is but a fleeting chapter in the vast story of our souls.
The Reality of the Hereafter
It is only in moments of loss, sickness, or facing our mortality that the truth of our existence surfaces. We are reminded that life is fragile, temporary, and ultimately out of our control. But by the time this realization fully dawns, it is often too late. As we age or face death, we realize how deeply immersed we were in our worldly distractions, and that the moment to prepare for the hereafter has passed us by.
The Hereafter—the true, eternal world—will be the reality that we awaken to after this, second death, that is coming to all of us. It is the realm where every soul will stand before her Creator to be judged for her actions in this life.
The temporary diversions that once seemed so important will fade into irrelevance. What will matter, then, are the choices we made here, the truthful lives that we lived, and whether we lived in accordance with the higher purpose of our existence - to serve the One God, our Creator, with sincerity and conviction.
The Urgency of Reflection
For many, the fear of death leads to avoidance. We choose to delay thinking about the Hereafter, assuming there is always more time. But this delay is one of the greatest traps. Death can come at any moment, and once it arrives, there is no turning back.
The decisions and actions we made during our lives will be sealed, and we will have no opportunity to alter our fate.
The challenge for humanity is to remember the big picture while we are still alive. It is to recognize the impermanence of this world and the permanence of the next. By constantly reflecting on the reality of death and judgment, we can make conscious choices that align with our eternal purpose, not just our temporary desires.
A Life Lived with Purpose
The goal, then, is not to forsake the world entirely, but to live within it with wisdom. We should strive to build lives that are meaningful, truthful, without being impure by partnering things and other people with the Creator.
We should be seeking His Happiness and His Grace. Surely He is God One. No god Except He. The Mighty, the Wise, the Merciful.
Worldly responsibilities get well managed if there is awareness of Faith, we can create a peaceful and more meaningful life that is both productive in the present and prepared for the future—our eternal future.
In the end, the ultimate lesson is this: life is short, and death is inevitable. The sooner we realize this, the more intentionally and prudently we can live, ensuring that we are not caught off-guard by the reality of the Hereafter and what’s coming next.
We have but a brief window of time to set our affairs in order, seek forgiveness, and pursue good, righteous deeds. To miss this opportunity is to risk everything.
The Takeaway
Each generation of humanity has, to some degree, lost sight of this ultimate truth. But the opportunity to turn towards it remains while we are still here.
Let us not wait until it is too late to awaken to the real world—the eternal world—because once death arrives, there will be no second chances.
This is the Second Chance. We are already in it.
Let us live with the awareness that our souls are on a journey back to their Creator, and let that awareness shape the way we live and end each day.
We are all sent here to turn to God, a turning sincere, and change our own souls, not to make or convince others to change.
So I begin with my own soul.
